The Serpent’s Egg was Dead Can Dance’s fourth album, originally issued in October of 1988. At the time of its release, Brendan and Lisa were in Spain writing and recording music for El Nino De La Luna, a film by Spanish director Augustin Villaronga, in which Lisa also made her acting debut. Spotted by the director whilst viewing videos of the group in his search for appropriate soundtrack material, Lisa was persuaded to become the leading lady in the film.
