After spending the previous five or so years garnering a huge cult following not only in the UK, but all around the globe, by spearheading a neo-hippie renaissance and feeding fans on a strict diet of cosmic psych rock in the form of underground cassette tapes, the Ozrics finally decided to surface in 1989, with their first official label release, Pungent Effulgent. The album was well received by fans and is now widely considered to be one of their best. Interestingly, the opening track on the album is one of the few in the entire Ozric repertoire to include vocals. This double LP deluxe gatefold edition includes six bonus tracks taken from the 1989 cassette "The Bits Between The Bits" and two bonus outtakes from the period.
