2008's The Fabled City is the sophomore release from Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave) under the moniker The Nightwatchman and follow-up to 2007's One Man Revolution. Morello and producer Brendan O'Brien up the ante here in terms of instrumental arrangements and the strength of the singing and songwriting. Not only does the album feature guest appearances from the likes of Serj Tankian (System of a Down), Shooter Jennings and Perry Farrell (Jane's Addiction), it's also officially where Morello's songwriting has become as contemplative as his politics, which is compelling to say the least. 180-gram vinyl courtesy of New West Records.
