As Scottish indie-pop legends Belle and Sebastian finish work on their ninth studio album (recorded in Atlanta with Ben H. Allen for worldwide release via Matador Records), Matador is excited to announce that the group's vinyl catalogue — currently out of print — will be back in print for a limited time.

The "It Could Have Been A Brilliant Career" series is an opportunity to revisit the band's treasured output and unique, consistent aesthetic, as well as an opportunity for fans to complete their collections and enjoy the music via the warmth of vinyl.

Titles include all the band's full-length studio albums and compilations (save for the Storytelling soundtrack, which was never released on vinyl in the U.S.).

Dear Catastrophe Waitress is the sixth studio album by Belle & Sebastian, released in 2003 on Rough Trade Records. Producer Trevor Horn, former member of The Buggles and producer of groups like Yes and Frankie Goes to Hollywood, oversaw the production of the album, and gave it a more polished, pop-friendly sound. This stood in sharp contrast with their previous lo-fi, folky albums (although songs like "Lord Anthony" hearkened back to their old sound.) In particular, the danceable track "Stay Loose" proved to be the first in a series of songs (such as "Your Cover's Blown" and "Sukie in the Graveyard") that further diverged from their roots.

The obscure Scottish indie-pop act released their strongest album in seven years with Dear Catastrophe Waitress. Singer-songwriter Stuart Murdoch finally got back to leading his band. Horn brought every instrument into a crystal-clear, lovingly retro, Top of the Pops clarity. It's their most diverse album by far, from the marching, uptempo drums on "Step Into My Office Baby" to the fractured, New Wave-organ-driven "Stay Loose."

This album is back in print for the first time in years! This first time on Matador label release features brand new cover art. Repackaged in resealable mylar bag with "It Could Have Been A Brilliant Career" obi strip .
