Takk, Sigur Ros' fourth album, has been out of print on vinyl for a while. Its reissue here comes with deluxe 180-gram 2LP vinyl, thick card dual gatefold sleeve with embossed artwork on the front and rear, and a center insert with a single-sided 10" for "Mílanó" (the other side contains an etching).

Written, performed and produced by the band (along with co-producer Ken Thomas) at their studio in Alafoss, Iceland, Takk is the record to justify every amazing claim ever laid at this exceptional band's door. Huge and intimate, orchestral and gossamer-light, rich, layered and essentially simple, Takk is the work of a band operating at the very top of their game.

This is the record that gave the world "Hoppipolla," a song which cemented Sigur Ros's reputation for being the go-to band for anyone wanting a sense of hope and exultation in their film/TV show. The record also harboured moments of definitive Sigur Ros drama in singles "Glosoli" and "Saeglopur," and high beauty in "Se Lest" and "Svo Hljott." Takk — which means "thank you" in the band's native Icelandic — quickly became the band's biggest selling album around the world, fuelled by Hoppipolla's usage in the BBC's "Planet Earth" nature series.

For the first time since its initial release, the vinyl record comes packaged on two 12-inch LPs, plus one one-sided etched 10-inch disc. The album artwork is the original debossed and die-cut sleeve, with printed innerbags, all done to the band's exacting specifications. All vinyl is 180-gram.
