1966 was a momentous year for albums. Aftermath was right up there with Pet Sounds, Revolver and Blonde On Blonde. The album represented a milestone for the Stones as it was the first to consist solely of Jagger/Richards original songs. It also featured the immaculate guitar work of Brian Jones and the remarkably-wry, observant “Mother’s Little Helper,” with extremely blatant and, for the time, controversial drug references.
