3LP and DVD plus album download, included
Ahead of Björk‘s forthcoming mid-career retrospective exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, her label, One Little Indian, has announced reissues of her entire vinyl back catalogue.
The seven albums will be first made available on colored vinyl, with each hue apparently reflecting the personality of each album's character. Once 5,000 copies of all albums have gone, the re-press will revert to black vinyl.
Biophilia Live is a concert film by Nick Fenton and Peter Strickland that captures the human element of Björk's multi-disciplinary multimedia project: Biophilia. Recorded live at Björk's show at London's Alexandra Palace in 2013, the film features Björk and her band performing every song on Biophilia and more using a broad variety of instruments — some digital, some traditional, and some completely unclassifiable. The film has already been hailed as "a captivating record of an artist in full command of her idiosyncratic powers" (Variety) and "an imaginative stand-alone artwork" (Hollywood Reporter) and is a vital piece of the grand mosaic that is Biophilia. The DVD and Blu-Ray release also come with extra content filmed during Biophilia's residency at Japans Miraikan Museum.
The Independent calls Biophila "brilliantly original and ambitious."
Bjork, the Icelandic singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer and occasional actress, has had 30 singles reach the Top 40 on pop charts around the world, with 22 Top 40 hits in the U.K. Prior to the release of Biophilia in 2011, media outlets reported that Björk's first six studio albums had sold more than 20 million copies worldwide.
