An album which almost never saw the light of day, an eclectic collection of Syd Barrett songs and out-takes which were only unearthed in October 1988. The majority of “Opel” was produced by Pink Floyd main man Dave Gilmour and includes such gems as “Opel” itself as well as some wild alternate takes from “The Madcap Laughs” including “Clowns And Jugglers” (otherwise known as “Octopus”) and “Golden Hair”. Other brilliant finds include “Word Song”, “Milky Way” and “Birdie Hop”. Basically, if you’re a Syd fan then “Opel” is the album you need to compliment “The Madcap Laughs” and “Barrett”.
