This stunning recording was previously only available as part of a larger collection. This is its first release as a single disc and is being reissued in surround as originally recorded for Vox. This score was composed for Eisenstein’s early 1940s film and can rightfully be considered a companion piece to his and Prokofiev’s Alexander Nevsky, considered a masterpiece for both creators. The full spectrum of this stellar recording is unveiled as four channels of stunning detail and imaging enabling listeners to experience the studio recording as in a concert hall setting.
