According to a recent concert review, John Lill is one of the greatest pianists alive today -- no one should argue. John has toured or performed with the London Symphony Orchestra, the London Philharmonic, the City of Birmingham the New York Philharmonic and many others. He was the joint winner of the prestigious Moscow International Tchaikovsky Competition in 1970.

This exciting new LP recording of John Lill performing Schumann’s solo piano music was made in December 2003 in Henry Wood Hall in London using audiophile gear including tube Neumann M50 microphones (as used by the famed Lewis Layton). Also used: Tube microphone pre’s and mixing console built by Tim de Paravicini, then on to a Studer analogue A80. The double LP was cut by Stan Ricker and pressed on 180-gram virgin vinyl by RTI in California. Great music, great performance, great communicative recording.
