The arrangements by the brothers Eddie and Brian Holland together with Lamont Dozier contributed enormously to the success of the Motown label. Eddie had worked together with Berry Gordy before the Detroit company was formed and reached the charts with Jamie in 1958. Shortly afterwards he retired from the stage and instead wrote lyrics and arranged songs for the company's singers and bands. Together with his partners who worked as composers and producers with great success in the background, he created the Motown Sound. During the years 1962-1967, no LP was released on the Motown label without the custody of the perfectionist trio. This late – and perhaps best – album by the Supremes stands under the auspices of the songwriter whose music is brought to life with depth, groove and total commitment by the three female vocalists.
