Bonnie Raitt's The Glow (1979) captured her in an important period of her career, taking on popular cover material such as "I Thank You" by Sam & Dave, "Your Good Thing (Is About To End)" by Lou Rawls and Jackson Browne's "You're Gonna Get What's Coming".

Her tough image is complemented by a polished production by Paul Rothchild, who's famous for putting The Doors, Janis Joplin, Tim Buckley, Love and The Paul Butterfield Band on tape. The Glow is a wonderful Raitt exercise, belonging in the ranks of best Raitt albums.
