Every year, tens of thousands of people go to the Cremona Town Hall to visit the Violin Room. Here they admire a unique exhibition of which Cremona is justly proud and which exemplifies the history of the classical Cremonese art of making stringed instruments, from the work of Andrea Amati and various members of his family, through to the absolute perfection of Antonio Stradivarius and the Guarneri family. The town's collection of violins has now become the center of a new enterprise: their voices have been recorded, rekindled by one of the greatest musicians of our time, Salvatore Accardo.
